Our Mission
At FBCCS, our mission is to love God, grow together, and reach the world! We express our love for God by worshiping Him - not just through singing on Sunday mornings, but with our whole lives. Worship is about becoming a living offering to God, making every word we speak and every action we take an act of praise to Him. We grow together by studying God's Word in Bible Study classes, gathering together to pray and fellowship, and by just sharing life together!
At First Baptist Church, the core of who we desire to be - our "heartbeat", if you will - is reaching the world. Whether it's down the hallway at school, down the street in our neighborhood, in our state, our country, or even to the ends of the earth, we are passionate about sharing the love of Jesus in both word and deed! At any given time, FBCCS is engaged in a number of outreach, evangelism, and missions projects. Here's a sample of what we've done, are doing, and are planning to do in order to reach the world:
BACKPACK MINISTRY
Did you know that for many children in our public school system, the only hot, nutritious meal they will receive during the week is lunch at school? Through a partnership with Crossroads Elementary in Cold Spring, we collect food every week which we then fill backpacks with to send home with children who, for whatever reason, do not have enough to eat over the weekend. This has been an amazing partnership, and we are blessed to show the love of God to these families!
FOREIGN MISSIONS
FBC is passionate about taking the Good News of Jesus to the ends of the earth. We currently have partnerships with missionaries in Brazil, South Africa, Haiti, Turkey, and China, and have sent and are sending teams to these locations. If you have a heart for the nations, FBC shares that heart and has opportunities for you to serve!
LOCAL MISSION/SERVANT EVANGELISM
We seek to reach our community in a variety of creative and tangible ways. Several times a year, small and large groups from FBC will reach out to the community with the love of Jesus through acts of kindness. Past projects have included:
- Paying for customers laundry at the laundromat (and talking and praying with them too!).
- Free cookouts for the community at local schools and businesses.
- Free lunches for local businesses - our neighbors and friends!
- Playground ministry in inner city communities.
- Food and clothing drives.
- And many more!
More projects like these happen year-round at our church. We also run a small food pantry ministry, to provide meals to individuals and families from our community who need assistance. We love and pray for our community!
